This past weekend, multiple
physicians volunteered their time and talents at SC Mission Midlands 2013, and
as a result, over one thousand patients in critical need of medical services
were seen. From pap smears, to cardiology consults, to rooms filled with
internists, emergency medicine physicians, and a variety of other specialists,
their needs were met.
The
goal of the event was to meet the critical health care needs of people in the
community who are uninsured and underserved. And the goal was met. Over 1,300
patient encounters took place at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds
throughout this past weekend.
